Bloodstock Metal 2 the Masses competition – Exciting Announcement #1

Exclusively for the M2M competition, we will be joined by the stunning, silken-voiced Joanne Robinson on dual and backing vocals.

Joanne is a good friend of Mel’s and is an operatically trained colourartura soprano. Joanne and Mel have sung together on numerous occasions – their most notable joint performance being the ‘Flower Duet’ from Lakme (aka ‘The BA theme’) at Buxton’s international Sullivan society gathering in 2007. Joanne has held numerous roles in operas – in particular, Mabel in ‘Pirates of Penzance’ and Princess Ida in ‘Princess Ida’. Joanne and Mel have held joint lead in several shows as well, with Jo playing lead soprano and Mel playing lead mezzo-soprano.

Joanne’s appearances with Aonia are exclusive to the M2M competition – to whatever stage we reach – and (muses willing) Bloodstock Festival, if we are successful at winning the competition – so if you want to hear Aonia dual-wielding vocals, be sure to be at the Roadhouse in Birmingham on the 3rd of April!
